Day Time Program Remarks
Nov. 14th Arrival of participants to Tel Aviv Airport; Meet&Assist Service and transfers to Bethlehem. Arrival to the Accommodation Center (AC) of the Scattered Hotel (SH); reception and distribution of participants to SH accommodations or good middle class hotel in Bethlehem. Included in the budget is 1 transfer per direction. Additional transfers for different arrival times can be arranged at US$130 per direction(up to 4 PAX).

Accommodation in Bethlehem depends on time of booking confirmation and availability of rooms at time of booking.

19:00 – 22:00 Welcoming address of partner 6; brief introduction to the  project

Introduction to the program and scope of the EduTour.

Brief lecture on the current situation in Bethlehem and Palestine.

Networking with local tour operators and tourism service providers

Joint dinner at the AC.

Please ensure a timely arrival of all participants in order to attend the opening meeting.

Nov. 15th 07:00 – 08:00 Breakfast.
08:30 – 11:30 Meeting of all participants in the AC.

Tour: Bethlehem Old City with local guide (Nativity Church, St. Catherine Church, Nativity Grotto, Manger Square, Old City market and quarter).

Along the tour visit some of the SH apartments within Bethlehem Old City: learn about the general touristic offer of Bethlehem.

Continuation of the city tour with a short visit to the Bethlehem Museum, Ayda Camp, Separation Wall.

11:30 – 12:15 Drive to UNESCO World Heritage Site Battir.
12:15 – 12:45 Welcoming address by local representative of Battir for a brief introduction to the ancient irrigation system and terraces.
12:45 – 14:45 “Walking lunch” through the terraces of Battir; meeting with local farmers and tasting of local agricultural products. If weather permits, alternatively lunch in Battir Guesthouse.

 

15:30 Return back to Bethlehem Old City for individual walk through Bethlehem’s Old City streets and individual discoveries of the Old City. Maps and informative brochures will be provided ahead, along with recommendations.

This part of the tour will allow participants to discover and experience Bethlehem as an individual tourist (FIT).

19:30 – 21:00 Dinner at SH network partner or authentic Palestinian restaurant in Bethlehem.
Nov. 16th 07:00 – 08:30 Breakfast.
09:15 – 11:30 Guided tour on the history of Jerusalem and along the Mt. of Olives (Dominus Flevit Chapel, Garden of Gethsemane, Church of Nations, Tomb of Mary, Kidron Valley).
11:30 – 15:00 Drive to the Dung Gate, visit the Western Wall Plaza and the Western Wall; continue to the Via Dolorosa in the Muslim Quarter for individual lunch. Recommendations for lunch will be given by the local guide.
15:00 – 17:30 Continue the tour of the Old City of Jerusalem including a visit to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.
17:30 – 18:30 Depart from Jerusalem to Bethlehem; check-in at a good middle class hotel in central Bethlehem area (for 1 night).
20:00 – 22:00 Final dinner with feedback discussion and farewell. Networking among participants and tourism stakeholders, operators.
Nov. 17th 07:00 – 09:00 Breakfast and Check-out; transfers to Tel Aviv Airport according to departure time. 1 transfer included, additional transfers as per above at extra cost.
